Fernbus Simulator on the PS5 offers players the opportunity to experience the life of a long-distance bus driver, but despite its great potential, the execution falls short.
Graphics and Atmosphere
Visually, Fernbus Simulator looks quite good. The bus models are detailed, and the European landscapes are fairly impressive, especially during sunrise or sunset. However, despite the power of the PS5, there are frequent frame drops and loading times that can be disruptive, particularly in busy urban areas. This can sometimes make the experience feel a bit sluggish and inconsistent.
Gameplay
The core of the game revolves around driving long-distance bus routes, where you must safely and punctually transport passengers to their destinations. The bus handling feels realistic, and navigating through traffic rules and weather conditions provides a challenging yet relaxing experience. However, the controls with the controller can sometimes feel imprecise and clunky, which somewhat limits the enjoyment of driving.
Reality vs. Gameplay
While Fernbus Simulator strives for realism, some key details are missing to make the experience fully immersive. The AI of other road users is often unpredictable, and there are occasional glitches that disrupt the sense of realism, such as disappearing objects or illogical traffic situations.
