Demo review: Dust & Diesel - Deadland Delivery

I got the demo of Dust & Diesel: Deadland Delivery played, and must say… I was really positively surprised. To be honest, didn't expect it to beó would be good. I played at the highest graphics settings, and wow it looks really tight. The atmosphere reminds me of Mad Max: A dusty world full of rust, wrecks and old trucks, where you're just trying to survive between all that debris. The makers have that feeling really well, with lots of detail and beautiful lighting.

What immediately struck me is how the driving feels. Those trucks have real weight. You can feel the difference between sand, stone or asphalt. It's not just gas and send sometimes you got to fight to keep the thing on the road, especially with heavy loads. I tried with keyboard and a game pad, and both work fine. The steering feels good, and the engine sound fits perfectly to that rough atmosphere.

The demo itself is not super big, but nevertheless gives a good idea of what the game wants to be. The missions are quite simple, but you immediately understand the direction of driving, survival, and a little discovery. If the full version will have more trucks, upgrades and areas, then I really see this as a cool title for anyone who likes to drive in rough environments.
