Demo Review: The Chronicles of Overlord

The Chronicles of Overlord knows to impress with his demo. The music and sound effects are of good quality, it is atmospheric, compelling and perfectly tuned to the dark world you end up in. The explanation is clear and ensures that you are taken directly into the game.

Graphically the game has its own, artistic style that really looks great: dark, mysterious and with an almost board gamelike appearance. You move pawn-like figures across the playing field and need to strategically disable enemies, enhancing the sense of a tactical RPG board game.

For fans of RPG’s and tactical strategy this is a title to keep an eye on. The demo is now free playable on Steam. The full release is scheduled for autumn in 2026, with an estimated price of about €10, which certainly makes it an interesting title to follow.
