Review: As Long As You
As Long As You’lo Doesn't really feel like a game to me, but more like something social. A project that shows what it's like to live with Alzheimer's. You play like Annie and look through her eyes — Sometimes she understands what's happening, and then she completely loses her place.
What touched me is how good it makes you feel that someone might forget things, but still feel which was important. Memories disappear, but the feeling remains. That idea will stick.
Sometimes Annie has short moments of clarity. A photo, a voice, a piece of light — And suddenly you recognize something of her old self. You can tell she's still there, deep down. And as long as her children are around, she feels safe. I liked that, but sad at the same time.
The atmosphere is quiet, but it comes in. There's no action or puzzle, just feeling. For me, it felt more like an experience than entertainment. To be honest, I think that aid organisations could really benefit. It shows so well how someone with dementia experiences the world. It makes you think about things you don't normally think about.

Verdict
A moving and human game that lingers in your head for a long time not because it's exciting, but because it feels real.
