Review: Deconstruction Simulator
Relax, but fascinating demolition
(played on Steam)
I have Deconstruction Simulator played through Steam, and after a few hours I noticed that it really is a game that follows its own pace. I played it on the graphical setting ‘epic’, and visually it's fine. The buildings and vehicles look good, but it's not a graphical highlight. Sometimes some detail or atmosphere is missing, making the world feel a little empty. Yet that quiet, sober look fits the kind of game it wants to be.
What bothered me is that the control is not always clear. The explanation in the beginning is a bit shaky, and I had to try a lot to understand how everything worked myself. That takes the tempo out, especially when you're new to these kind of simulators. A short, clear tutorial would already help a lot.
Gameplay is Deconstruction Simulator No game for people in a hurry. Everything goes step by step: you break down, sort materials, and work quietly. For me, that was the charm. It is almost relaxing to work without pressure, just to be busy. But I understand that not everyone will share that feeling; Anyone looking for action or speed is likely to find this too slow.
For me it felt more like escape from the hustle and bustle, building something (or in this case aborting) at my own pace.

Verdict
A calm, solid simulator that essentially rewards those who like precision and rest rather than speed. Hopefully the developer will continue to improve, because the base is strong.
