Review: Road Cafe Simulator

Road Cafe Simulator is a quiet management game in which you run a road restaurant along a busy highway. Developed by V4 Games and now available on PlayStation 5, this simulator offers a surprisingly relaxing experience for players who love to build, operate and optimize.

Premise and gameplay

You start with a expired cafeé And a couple of tables. Soon you expand: You buy equipment, hire staff and set your menu. Customers come and go, each with their own preferences and behaviours. It is up to you to make their experience run smoothly from preparing meals to keeping the premises clean.

The gameplay is a mix of tycoon elements and light simulation. You build new zones, unlock recipes and invest in upgrades. The control on PS5 is well adapted: menu’s are clear and the navigation between tasks feels intuïtive with the controller.

Atmosphere and presentation

Graphical is Road Cafe Simulator solid. The surroundings are atmospheric, with day and night cycles and varying weather conditions that your café to bring it to life. Customers are animated, but lack variation in behaviour and appearance. The soundtrack is soothing, although it becomes repetitive over time.

What makes the game strong is the calm atmosphere. There's no time pressure, no stressful deadlines. You set the pace. That makes it ideal for players who want to relax and gradually expand their empire.

PS5 performance

On PlayStation 5 the game runs stable. Loading times are short, and the framerate remains consistent, even at busy times. The DualSense controller is limited: Haptic feedback is present in certain interactions, but it would have been stronger.ïcan be integrated.
