Spider-Man 2
Introduction
Marvelâ€TMs Spider-Man 2 is the direct sequel to Marvelâ€TMs Spider-Man (2018) and Spider-Man: Miles Morales (2020). With this title Insomniac Games has delivered one of the most polished and technically impressive PlayStation 5 exclusives and now PC. The game combines a compelling superhero story with spectacular gameplay, a beautiful open world and a deep emotional core. Both Peter Parker and Miles Morales are central to this sequel, and the result is one of the best superhero games ever made.

The story begins with Peter and Miles trying to keep the order together in a version of New York that is bigger and more detailed than ever. They soon face Kraven the Hunter, who starts a dangerous hunt for superhumans, and Venom's threat, which is uniquely incorporated into the story. Unlike previous incarnations, Venom is not a simple villain here, but an emotionally charged element that tests the relationship between Peter and his old friend Harry Osborn.
The story is well written and knows how to tackle heavy themes like loss, responsibility, revenge and identity in an adult way. The balance between action and emotional depth is excellent. Both Peter and Miles have their own character arch, and the way their stories come together is impressive and organic. The side characters are not only secondary, but actively contribute to the progress of the story and give the world extra weight and humanity.

The gameplay feels familiar to those who played the previous parts, but is refined on many fronts. Switching between Peter and Miles is smooth and each character has unique skills and playing styles. Peter gets access to the iconic symbiote suit, which gives him brutal, aggressive powers, while Miles develops his bioelectric powers further.
The combat is fast, fluent and spectacular. Enemies range from ordinary criminals to technologically advanced opponents and symbiote mutants, which creates variety in strategy. The skills are separated by character, which invites you to experiment and develop your own playing style.
What stands out is how seamless the gameplay is thanks to the power of the PS5. Loading times are virtually nonexistent, transitions between gameplay and cut scenes are fluent, and the fast travel system works literally in seconds.

New York is now bigger and richer than ever. Besides Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens are also accessible, which creates more variation in the environment. The world is alive; NPCâ€TMs respond more realistically, traffic flows are busier and there are more dynamic events.
The side missions are no longer simple distractions, but often full story lines with their own plot twists, characters and rewards. Collectibles and challenges are better integrated into the world and feel less as padding.

Marvelâ€TMs Spider-Man 2 is technically a gem. The graphics are among the best on PlayStation 5: detailed facial animations, lifelike environments, realistic lighting and fast performance. The game runs smoothly in both 30fps fidelity mode and 60fps performance mode, with ray tracing in both options.
The soundtrack is compelling, with theme music that adapts to who you play (Peter of Miles), and the voice actors deliver strong performances. Especially Venom's voice is threatening and memorable.
