Baldur's Gate 3 gets native Steam Deck version
Larian Studios confirmed that Baldur's Gate 3 now has a native version for the Steam Deck. This new build, part of Hotfix #34, is available via Steam and offers more efficient use of the cpu and memory of the handheld.
Unlike previous versions, the native build does not run via the Proton-translation layer, which allegedly leads to better performance. The developer stresses that this version is exclusive to Steam Deck and does not work on other Linux systems.
Users can easily switch between the native version and the Proton build, if necessary. However, Larian warns that save files are stored in a different location. Whoever uses Steam Cloud doesn't have to do anything; others must move their saves manually. Instructions can be found on the official website of Larian Studios.
