Battlefield 6 officially revealed: explosive return of a legendary shooter

Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios made the long-awaited unveiling of a big live event in Los Angeles Battlefield 6, the newest part in the iconic shooter franchise. The game appears worldwide 10 October 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series XS and PC via Steam, EA App and Epic Games Store.

Multiplayer: World-wide All-Out Warfare

During the event fans got a first look at the intense multiplayer action of Battlefield 6. The game introduces a series of classic and new modes including Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush, Team Deathmatch, Squad Deathmatch, Domination and brand new mode Escale, where teams compete for strategic control points.

The maps are large and varied: from the streets of New York to the deserts of Egypt. Each folder contains multiple combat zones and is designed for different playing styles. The battles are dynamic, tactical and visually impressive, with an emphasis on cooperation and destruction.

Singleplayer: a world on the brink of collapse

Battlefield 6 takes place in the year 2027, in which Europe leaves NATO after a political crisis. The United States and its allies are opposed to PAX ARMATA, a shady military organization that wants to fill the power vacuum. The single player campaign promises a compelling experience of geopolitical intrigues, technological threats and intense missions.

New gameplay features

Battlefield 6 introduces the Kinesthetic Combat System, which gives players more mobility and control in gunfights. New tactics such as Drag and Revive and mounting weapons on walls provides more depth and strategic possibilities.

The classic class system returns with four reels: Assault, Recon, Support and Engineer. Each class has unique gadgets, distinctive weapons and special training, allowing players to define their role on the battlefield. Destroy is also back, with improved systems that dynamically transform combat zones and open new tactical routes.

Portal and Community Experiences

The creative tool set Battlefield Portal is more powerful and streamlined than ever. Players can create their own modes, maps and lines via the new feature Community Experiences. Battlefield Studios promises to add new content regularly after the release, including extra modes, maps and weapons.

Biggest Open Beta ever

Battlefield 6 organizes the largest Open Beta in the history of the franchise.

  • Early Access: August 7 and 8 (via selected streams and Battlefield Labs)
  • Open Beta Weekend 1: 9 and 10 August
  • Open Beta Weekend 2: 14 to 17 August

During the Beta, players can access various multiplayer modes and maps on all platforms.

Developers' responses

†œWhen we started shaping the future of Battlefield, we knew that we had to tackle the basic principles of what players have liked about the series for over twenty years, according to Byron Beede, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Battlefield. “We're back in our all-out warfare playground, thanks to four world-class teams who develop the game as one squad called Battlefield Studios. Criterion, DICE, Motive and Ripple Effect have put their hearts and souls into this new Battlefield. ♪ ♪

Vince Zampella, Executive Vice President, adds: “I have worked on many titles over the years and can confidently say that Battlefield 6 is something special. We cannot wait to show you more in the coming months from the intense, tactical battles and epic warfare of Battlefield 6 to the release on October 10. ♪ ♪
