Destiny 2's annual in-game event called Guardian Games returns on May 2
Bungie today announced the return of the free in-game event called Guardian Games. The event starts on 2 May and lasts until the end of Season of Defiant on 23 May. The Guardian Games Cup also returns, a competition where players have the chance to win fantastic prizes and raise money for charity.
Guardian Games 2023
The Guardian Games is a friendly competition in which players compete for their favorite class (Hunter, Warlock and Titan). During the Guardian Games, players earn medallions for various activities in the game, including a class-based version of popular PvP mode Supremacy. During the in-game event, players can earn two weapons from the Guardian Games:
- Taraxippos - The first Legendary Strand Scout Rifle in the game.
- The Title - The Void Submachine Gun makes its comeback with updates, including the fan-favorite perk: Repulsor Brace.
There is also a free Guardian Games Event Card available for players. By completing challenges on this card, players can earn cosmetic rewards. Think of a new Exotic emote, the brand new Champâ€TM title and extra Triumphs. The Event Card can be upgraded for 1000 Silver to release additional rewards.
Guardian Games Cup
Guardian Games Cup Debuted last year with selected fire teams from all over the world. This year, Bungie invites everyone to join us. Players can win prizes together with their fire team and raise money for charity.
Teams can participate in two categories: ♪ Technical ♪ ♪ and Charitable ♪ The Technical category keeps track of the total number of medals that an officially registered fire team gets during the Guardian Games. The Charitable category keeps track of the total amount the team collects via the official registration page of the Bungie Foundation.
- Top team in the category Technical: custom art of your fire team by PherianArt
- Top team in the Charity category: custom art of your fire team by Gammatrap
- Top two teams in the categories Technical and Charitable: Guardian Games pendant ('MsRP')
- Top three teams in the categories Technical and Charitable: Apricot Dawn emblem
- Top four teams in the categories Technical and Charitable: discount codes for the Bungie Store
Participants who collect $25 or higher get the Quantum Relay emblem.
In collaboration with the Bungie Foundation, this year's proceeds will be donated to Direct Relief and the International Rescue Committee, making an impact worldwide.
