Explosion caused fire at Rockstar North headquarters in Edinburgh

In the early morning fire broke out at Rockstar North headquarters in Edinburgh, the studio behind Grand Theft Auto 6. The fire started after an explosion in a technical space where there was a boiler installation. Emergency services received a notification at 05.02 hours local time and immediately emigrated. Fire units were still working on the incident for a long time. According to Edinburgh Live, the explosion occurred in an enclosed room with a boiler.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire Service confirmed that three fire fighting vehicles and four specialist units were deployed and that the emergency services remained on site for a longer time. As far as we know, no casualties. The explosion and fire took place outside office hours, which presumably left no one in the building. Nothing is officially known about the extent of the damage, but it is clear that the incident is a major setback for the studio.

Rockstar North has been under a magnifying glass for sudden layoffs. Employees involved suggested that there was a trade union suppression, an accusation denied by Rockstar. The case is currently before the court and is pending.
