Kasedo Games reveals ecological citybuilder Life Below, release on May 26, 2026

The British publisher Kasedo Games and developer Megapop have announced that their new game Life Below on 26 May 2026 exclusively appears for PC via Steam. At the same time, a new trailer has been released that gives players a first look at the unique underwater world and the challenges that come with it.

Unlike traditional citybuilders, where players develop cities and infrastructure, chooses Life Below for a distinctly different approach. The game is entirely about building and maintaining a coral reef ecosystem. Players do not focus on buildings, but on promoting biodiversity, attracting marine life and maintaining a healthy marine environment.

According to the creators, the power of the game lies in the combination of entertainment and realism. The development took place in collaboration with marine biologists, thus shaping the ecological systems in the game as naturally as possible. Also worked Rhianna Pratchett join the project, which should ensure a strong narrative layer and pay extra attention to the vulnerability of oceans.

The gameplay focuses on dealing with dynamic and often unpredictable threats. Players have to deal with coral bleaching, invasive species, jellyfish plagues and the consequences of climate change, such as rising water temperatures. Pollution, for example through oil spills, also plays a role. It is up to the player to strategyën develop which protect the reef and allow it to flourish at the same time.

Life Below is also part of the upcoming Steam Earth Appreciation Festival, where the game is presented more extensively. On 25 April is planned a special livestream in which the developers will demonstrate new gameplay images and mechanics.
