New DLC for Commands: Origins takes place on Crete

The studio behind Commandos: Origins and publisher Kalypso Media announced that the first expansion of the game will be released on November 18, 2025. The DLC is called Shadows over Crete and takes place in the aftermath of Operation Merkur, the German attack on Crete in May 1941. This battle was an important moment in World War II and is now the scene for a new chapter in the tactical series.

In the expansion, the known group of Commandos is sent back on a secret mission, this time behind enemy lines in Crete. They get help from the local resistance, led by Eleni Andris, a determined woman who wants to free her island from the occupying forces at all costs. Together with her, players must perform sabotage actions, infiltrate enemy camps and try to weaken German control.

The DLC offers four new fully dedicated missions that focus on stealth, strategy and precision. Each mission requires planning and timing, where success often depends on how well players know their team coöRdine. The action takes place in various locations, from quiet coastal villages and old ruïnes to a port town and a heavily guarded island based on the historic Spinalonga.

In addition to the new missions, Shadows also introduces a new type of enemy over Crete: German paratroopers who react very quickly to suspicious situations and may appear unexpectedly during battles. This addition ensures that players must remain alert and constantly adjust their strategy to avoid being surprised.

With this extension, Commandos gets: Origins a fresh impulse. The atmosphere, historical setting and renewed tactical challenges make the DLC an interesting addition to both series veterans and new players who love strategic war action with that distinctive tension of well-planned infiltration.
