Palworld leaves early access in 2026: Pocketpair announces full release
The popular survival game Palworld will officially come out in the course of 2026 and end its early access period. That's what developer Pocketpair announced. The full version of the game will be available to PC via Steam and Microsoft Store, as well as to Xbox Series XS, Xbox One and PlayStation 5.
Palworld appeared on January 19, 2024 in early access for Xbox consoles and PC, and was also made available for PlayStation 5 on September 24, 2024. Since then, the game has grown rapidly into a global phenomenon, with millions of players rushing into collecting so-called Pals, creatures that can be deployed to work, fight, trade and even as a food source.
According to Bucky, communications and publishing manager at Pocketpair, the decision to release the game fully was taken in 2026. “In addition to adding new content, we also have to clean up a lot before Palworld leaves early access,â€" says Bucky. “It's no secret that Palworld has all kinds of peculiarities and crying, and we want to take the time to resolve that properly. That's why we're starting this year. Our goal is to release Palworld next year. Taking the time to solve the problems will eventually lead to a better game. ♪ ♪
The announcement means that Pocketpair will remain relatively quiet for the rest of this year. According to Bucky, the upcoming winter update is smaller than the big update that appeared in February, but players do not have to expect full radio silence. “We hope our players understand that we use the extra time to improve the game. That doesn't mean there will be no updates. There are some surprises planned for our winter update. On the occasion of the announcement Palworld is temporarily available with discount.
Palworld combines elements of survival, crafting and monster collection in an open world where players explore dungeons, manage farms and deploy their Pals for various tasks. The game got a lot of attention because of its unique mix of genres, but also because of the controversy surrounding the visual similarities with Pokémon. Nintendo and The Pokémon Company previously filed a lawsuit against Pocketpair, leading to game modifications. Thus it is no longer possible to fly on Pals a function that was previously prominently present.
With the planned release in 2026, Pocketpair seems determined to refine Palworld and prepare for a stable, full launch. So fans of the genre can make up for an improved version of a game that has already made a lot of noise.
