Pokémon opens pop-up shop in Natural History Museum London

After the noisy collaboration with the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, The Pokémon Company once again takes the leap in the museum world. This time there will be a temporary Pokémon shop at the Natural History Museum in London, specially decorated around the theme evolution and the 30th anniversary of the popular franchise.

In 2023 the exhibition in Amsterdam led to chaos: Six paintings with Pokémon were exhibited and there was a special Pikachu card for sale. Traders seized their opportunity massively, resulting in employees being under pressure. In the end, four employees were suspended, one of whom was suspected of embezzlement.

The London initiative aims to achieve a more positive outcome. According to Adam Farrar, director of commercial affairs and visitor experience of the museum, the collaboration makes sense: “Pokémon and the Natural History Museum share a fascination for nature, evolution and diversity. We hope that this collaboration will generate curiosity and pleasure both for the Pokémon world and for our own planet. ♪ ♪
