Review: Clothing Store Simulator
In Clothing Store Simulator you run your own clothing store from empty shelves to a well-stocked stock. Managing stock is easy and convenient via the shop computer and adjusting sales prices is quickly and clearly regulated. This makes the game very accessible and playable to the new gamers among us.
Still, the gameplay will soon feel a bit shallow. The physics are simple and what I miss most is the involvement in the sales process. Checkout consists simply of pressing the space bar; No counting money, no change and no risk of error. This eliminates a large part of the tension that might be associated with shop management, and makes the game feel less challenging.
Also the price and discountssystem doesn't make any sense. Discounts hardly cause extra sales, often even sells clothes better without a discount. This makes the system feel limited and less rewarding.
In addition, the game lacks clear goals. There are no concrete milestones, challenges or long-term goals to work towards. You keep repeating the same actions, which ultimately makes the gameplay monotonous.
One of the stronger points of Clothing Store Simulator is the freedom you get when decorating your store. You decide where racks, tables and mannequins will stand, so you can really give your shop your own look. Moving and adjusting furniture goes simply and without frustration, which makes it fun to keep tinkering to the layout. For players who like to be creative, this is a relaxed and satisfying part of the game.
