What happened to Fae Farm?

When Fae Farm was announced, it seemed thaté new cozy game everyone was waiting for. A magic cozy game with cute graphics, crafting, combat én a co-op gameplay! Many players (me too!) immediately saw it as a possible new favorite alongside games like Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing. But now... You don't hear from Fae Farm anymore, so what happened?

The hype was huge.

Before the release (in 2023) the atmosphere around Fae Farm was very positive. The trailers were cozy, the colors jumped out and the idea of a magical farming world appealed to many players. Definitely fans of the genres farming-sims and RPG were very curious, because the game seemed to have everything: Farming, building relationships, discovering, crafting and a relaxed atmosphere. 

After the release the atmosphere quickly changed

Although many people liked the game at first, the same criticism began to come back more often in reviews and online discussions.
The biggest complaint? The world felt empty to many players. NPC’s lack personality, conversations quickly become repetitive and relationships feel superficial. Right. In games like this, players often want to bond with the inhabitants of the world, but Fae Farm did not have that feeling for many people.

In addition, many players felt that the gameplay got very repetitive after a while. The beginning feels cozy and soothing, but later it turns into tasks finishing without real surprise or depth. The prize also played.. 

Yet Fae Farm still has fans

That doesn't mean Fae Farm is bad. There are plenty of players who just love the simple and quiet gameplay. If you are looking for a relaxed game without too much stress or difficult systems, then this game can still be perfect. Only it didn't end up being that huge cozy hit that many players were hoping for in advance.
