Review: Roadcraft

RoadCraft is a simulation game in which you control a construction company that recovers areas after natural disasters. Think of floods, landslides or storms that have damaged roads, bridges and buildings. Your job is to make these areas safe and usable again. In the game you use various vehicles and machines such as excavators, bulldozers and trucks. With these vehicles you clean up debris, transport materials and build new roads or bridges. The game essentially pertains to planning, patience and the proper performance of tasks. You often have to clear the terrain before you can build something, so you work step by step to restore the environment. RoadCraft can be played both alone and in multiplayer. In singleplayer you work on the missions at your own pace. In multiplayer you can work with up to four players. Together you can divide tasks and complete large projects faster. The game has a realistic style and focuses more on collaboration and simulation than on action. Players who like to build, drive vehicles and quietly work on big assignments will probably like the game. In short, RoadCraft is a co-op construction simulation in which teamwork and strategy are central.
